Saratoga Springs -- Community members and local business owners came together Wednesday to launch an effort to support the expansion Saratoga Casino and Raceway into a full fledged casino. The group called "Destination Saratoga" says casino gaming could bring over 600-jobs to Saratoga Springs and $11m annually for the city and county. A full-casino license will be granted in the Capital Region after New York voters approved the measure in November. Voters in Saratoga County defeated the casino referendum and those against one locating in Saratoga Springs say it could bring crime and other social problems to the city. Saratoga Springs -- Officials say this past summer was a record-breaking one as the city celebrated 150 years of horse racing. Local leaders came together Tuesday to release numbers that show hotel room occupancy tax revenues were up 3.5 percent from last year to $327,000 for the county, and 4.1 percent to $1.15 million for the city, both records. Those numbers are for the period between June and August as the city celebrated the 150th anniversary of its first thoroughbred racing season in 1863.

Saratoga Springs -- Police have said that last July's fire at a row of homes on Woodlawn Avenue is arson. Tuesday Assistant Police Chief John Catone said they have a person or persons of interest in connection with the fire. But no arrests have been made. More than 30 residents were displaced after the blaze in the early morning hours of July 28th. Police say the fire had numerous points of origin and their investigation continues.

SARATOGA SPRINGS -- Over 100-female police officers gathered in Saratoga Springs on Thursday, October 10th for the annual New York Women in Law Enforcement conference.
